Walk into Tysons Corner Center this month looking for Dhoom, and you'll find construction walls instead. The Indian restaurant and its fast-casual counter, Naan & Beyond, closed this summer after a little over two years in business. In their place: Milk & Honey, a Southern comfort food chain from Reston-based Thompson Hospitality, set to open this November as the company's 21st location.
For visitors who come to Tysons Corner Center only a few times a year, those changes can make the dining lineup look different on each visit.
Dining and Entertainment at Tysons Corner Center
Tysons Corner Center is in the middle of what Macerich, the mall's owner, has described as a $100 million push toward "experience-driven entertainment." Recent changes include Dhoom and Naan & Beyond closing after a little over two years, with Milk & Honey set to open in their place this November.
Level99, the 40,000-square-foot social gaming venue with more than 50 physical and mental challenges, opened this year and offers on-site dining through Victory Brewing. It gives visitors another option alongside the mall's restaurants.
What's Actually Open This Week
If you're deciding where to spend a free afternoon in early September, here are a few current openings and attractions in Tysons:
- Blue Bottle Coffee opened its first Virginia location on August 13 as a kiosk in Fashion Court near Gap. No seating of its own, but it borrows the common-area tables, and the launch came with giveaways for the first 150 customers through the door.
- 7th Avenue Co., a direct-to-consumer modular sofa brand, opened a showroom the week before Blue Bottle arrived.
- Chao Ban, the Vietnamese street food concept from James Beard finalist Chef Kevin Tien of Moon Rabbit, has been open at Tysons Galleria since April.
- Level99 is fully open on Level 2, and it's the closest thing the mall has to an anchor for a full evening out rather than a quick stop.
Two more additions are landing within weeks, not months. Sloomoo Institute, the interactive slime experience that's already drawn crowds in New York and Chicago, and a Bluey-themed kids' experience are both slated to open this month. If you've got young kids and you've been holding off on a Tysons trip until there's something for them beyond the food court, that wait is almost over.
Across Chain Bridge Road: Capital One Center
Tysons Corner Center isn't the only redevelopment story in the area. A short walk across Chain Bridge Road, Capital One Center has also developed a dining lineup.
Sisters Tysons, the fifth and largest location for the Sisters Thai brand, anchors a street-level corner with pad Thai, drunken noodles, and specialty cocktails, and it shares a building with Flore Café, an offshoot serving brunch, Thai-inspired gelato, and a Sunday high tea. Stellina Pizzeria's fifth and largest location sits nearby with cacio e pepe pizza and fresh pasta. Ometeo, the Tex-Mex spot that won the Restaurant Association of Washington's 2024 Restaurateur of the Year for its management team, sits a few doors down. Up on the 11th floor at The Perch, Starr Hill Biergarten pours alongside Perch Putt, an elevated mini golf course with its own food truck lineup.
The newest name joining that mix is La Omri, a Mediterranean restaurant and bar from IRG Concepts, the group behind Georgetown's Villa Yara and the Sir Sandwich hookah lounge already operating in Tysons. La Omri is set to fill roughly 7,500 square feet across from Capital One Hall in late 2026, with a 24-seat bar and weekend entertainment built in. As FFXnow reported when the deal was announced, project executive partner Mike Saadi said: "Tysons continues to establish itself as one of the region's most dynamic and evolving markets."
Capital One Center also runs a Culinary Week each July in partnership with World Central Kitchen, the nonprofit founded by Chef José Andrés. Last year's event raised more than $10,000 for the organization through ticketed chef demos and a Battle of the Chefs competition on The Perch's Great Lawn. The event is another part of Capital One Center's dining lineup.
Longer-Term Projects
Not everything moving into Tysons is built for a quick lease cycle. Eataly officially confirmed in July that it's taking over the two-story space vacated by American Girl at Tysons Corner Center, with an opening targeted for 2027. Permit filings have also pointed to Haidilao, the Chinese hot pot chain, occupying part of the same footprint, though neither company has confirmed the full lineup of restaurants that will operate under Eataly's roof.
Dick's Sporting Goods announced back in February that its large-format House of Sport concept will fill the former Lord & Taylor anchor space, with a fall 2027 opening. That's a much longer runway than Dhoom got. When a tenant signs on for a space that size with a year-plus buildout, the mall is committing to that anchor for a decade or more, not evaluating it against a two-year lease renewal.
If you live nearby and want to understand what Tysons may look like in a year versus five years, consider both near-term openings and longer-term projects. Blue Bottle, 7th Avenue Co., and Milk & Honey are among the recent or announced additions, while Eataly and Dick's House of Sport are planned for 2027. Looking at both timeframes gives a broader view of what is planned.
How to Actually Spend a Saturday There Right Now
If you want to see the current version of Tysons before it changes again, a reasonable day looks like this: start with brunch at Flore Café inside Sisters Thai at Capital One Center, walk the Perch and putt a few holes at Perch Putt, then cross Chain Bridge Road for a couple hours at Level99 before dinner. If you can snag a reservation, the Naisho Room atop The Watermark Hotel is still one of the few genuinely hard-to-get seats in Tysons, a hidden cocktail lounge with a 19-to-22-course omakase menu that requires knowing where to look.
Come back in a few months and some of this list will have changed. That's not a flaw in the plan. It's just how Tysons works right now.
